Hans Diehl, founder of Dahoam1516 and Braumeister behind Hans’ Bräuhaus, is passionate about bringing Bavarian culinary and brewing traditions to life in Alameda. Trained in both Bavaria and the United States, he focuses on hands-on learning experiences that are approachable, engaging, and grounded in real tradition—adapted for the modern home.
Through Dahoam1516 and Hans’ Bräuhaus, Hans has created a unique and culturally rich space where people come together to cook, brew, and share—whether trying something new or building on existing skills.
At Dahoam1516, Hans leads small-group, hands-on classes and experiences designed to make classic recipes and brewing methods accessible to everyone—from first-time participants to experienced home cooks and brewers. His approach emphasizes technique, participation, and shared experience, creating an environment where guests not only learn new skills but connect through food, beer, and tradition.
Hans' approach is simple: keep it authentic, keep it accessible, and make sure everyone leaves having learned something and had some fun.
